Civil War Living History at the Sheldon Peck Homestead!

Learn about the American Civil War and Decoration Day, today known as Memorial Day!

Meet local reenactors from various reenacting groups who will create the appearance of Civil War life for guests. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about Lombard’s ties to the Civil War and the meaning behind Decoration Day. There will also be an Artillery Display with a cannon, an Infantry Display, and a demonstration of what Soldier life was like in encampments and at battle sites. An Arms Display will feature different weapons including the sword and saber.

The Sheldon Peck Homestead will be open for the public to view our exhibits.

This event is free and appropriate for all ages.

Per LHS policy, masks and social distancing is required.

Guests are asked to bring their own chair.
