Even Andy Warhol would agree that he has had decades more than his “fifteen-minutes” of fame.

Warhol was simultaneously an artist, magazine illustrator and magazine owner, filmmaker and gossip columnist. His life and work have endured, and he continues to influence product design, media and fashion. However, it is especially his influence as a fashionista that is at the core of these events.

Featured articles and garments in the exhibit come from many different sources:  The LHS collection, including a vintage Lombard map dress, as well as “begged, borrowed, donated & purchased” items from his most productive decades.

The Opening Reception An opportunity to preview the exhibit and enjoy a little bit of Studio 54 experience; sip bubbly beverages, nibble tiny tidbits and, of course, mingle-mingle-mingle.

The Exhibit Immerse yourself in vintage Andy Warhol inspired designs and feel the candy color explosion of fuchsia, turquoise, lime green and cherry red surround you. Some visitors may feel somewhat nostalgic for all those clothes they may have donated or thrown away. Advice for visitors starting on life’s fashion journey: No matter how extreme the item – no matter if it doesn’t fit anymore - don’t get rid of it.

The Fashion Show Come alone or with your besties for a fashion show, refreshments and music that you will remember as one of the best experiences of your lives. Unique. Fun. Exciting. Inspiring. And, memorable. Professional models, delicious appetizers, adult beverages, “hip” music – not for the faint-hearted or ultra conservative - adds up to a “can’t miss” event.

The Lombard Historical Society partnered with Righteous Kitchen, the Ladies’ Room: An Upscale Retail Shop,  Thomkat Fashion & Art Boutique, and Drytini: Blow Dry & Beauty Bar in Lombard for these events.

*Andy Warhol predicted that “Everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes,” and after several people claimed, and modified the expression, the “quotation” became “Fifteen Minutes of Fame,” attributed to Warhol.

This is a free event. No registration required.
