Originally known as Babcock’s Grove Cemetery, the Lombard Cemetery serves as a resting place for many early Lombardians. Cemeteries have been places of quiet reflection and offer great insights into the past.
Lombard Local Figures-
Learn about the people who lived in Lombard in the early days. Students will learn about notable figures such as the Pecks, and a Civil War Doctor through a tour through the cemetery. This tour last approximately 1 hour and costs $5 per student. Chaperones are free.
Iconography
Learn about what the decorations and carvings which adorn the headstone and grave markers. Students will start with an introduction to the cemetery and then complete a worksheet which will take them on a self-guided experience through the cemetery with a docent to answer questions. The program lasts approximately 1 hour and costs $5 per student. Chaperones are free.
