Ellen Martin Marker Dedication
The Lombard Historical Society, with the Pomeroy Foundation and the Historic Preservation Commission, dedicates a new historical marker recognizing Ellen Martin, the first woman to vote in a general election in the state of Illinois. Miss Martin and fourteen of Lombard’s most prominent women cast their ballots as citizens and residents of the town of Lombard on April 6, 1891.
Light refreshments will be served in the garden.
