Learn what makes this modest home of a folk-art painter integral to not only the history of Lombard but the history of the one of the most contentions parts of American history, the Civil War.

Visitors are invited on a 1-hour evening tour of the Sheldon Peck Homestead. The Peck Homestead is the oldest house in Lombard and was the home of renown folk artist Sheldon Peck.
The Homestead is part of the National Park Service’s Network to Freedom and is a verified Underground Railroad station. Learn about how Lombard connects to our national history. Visitors will hear the story of Old Charley, the Freedom Seeker who lived with the Pecks and helped bring enslaved people to their freedom.
