Language of Flowers
Virtual Tea Party
Our Virtual Victorian Tea Party was such fun that we thought we would do it again! But, this time we will be sipping tea and talking about Floriography, the “Language of Flowers.”
Interest in Floriography soared in Victorian England and in the United States during the 19th century. Used as a means of covert communication by courting couples, various flowers, and floral arrangements were assigned meanings that allowed people to express feelings that otherwise could not be spoken.
Lombard Historical Society Victorian experts, Rae Slowik, Education Coordinator, and Volunteer, Kim White, will lead participants through this lively romp of a Victorian-inspired Tea.
Registration is required. Please fill out the form below to register.
Register by April 26th to receive a Tea Gift Bag.
