Carriage House Construction Process Update Part 1

Lilac Emporium Gift Shop, aka Colonel Plum’s Potting Shed, aka “The Coop;” 2021

The Village of Lombard Department of Public Works selected Muehlfelt Enterprises, Inc., to move “the coop,” aka The Lilac Emporium Gift Shop, to Lilacia Park, the first step in the whole construction process. Muehlfelt Enterprises, Inc. moved the coop in 1993 and the Carriage House in 1981. The coop will be placed close to its original location in Lilacia Park, near the Colonel Plum Carriage House, the only other original structure in the Park.

FROM THE NOVEMBER 4, 2021 VILLAGE TRUSTEES MEETING
At their November 4, 2021 meeting, the Village of Lombard Trustees approved an intergovernmental Agreement between the Village of Lombard and the Lombard Historical Society relative to the funding of the construction of the Carriage House Addition Project.

Also, at the November 4, 2021 meeting, the Trustees approved the Carriage House Addition Award of a contract to Action One Construction, Inc. the lowest responsible bidder of three (3) bids received, in the base amount of $772,000.00. The funding of the project comes from an IDNR Public Museum grant in the amount of $750,000.00.
